Sub Cue is a subscription management app that helps you track all your recurring payments in one place. It provides analytics, reminders, and helps you avoid unexpected charges. The app includes preloaded subscriptions for your region to get you started quickly.
When you first open Sub Cue, you'll go through onboarding where you set your currency. The app then preloads the top 10 subscriptions for your region. To customize: tap a preloaded subscription, update the start date, next billing date, and adjust the price to match your actual subscription. You can also add new subscriptions using the + button.
Sub Cue comes with the top 10 most popular subscriptions in your region (based on your currency). These are starter templates - if you have Netflix for example, tap the preloaded Netflix subscription and update it with your real billing dates and pricing. Delete any you don't use.
Yes! Each subscription has a 'Business Expense' toggle. In Analytics, you can filter to show only business expenses, which is helpful for business budgeting. This works with the financial year settings.
Each subscription can be assigned to categories like Entertainment, Productivity, Music, etc. You can also create custom categories in Settings > Advanced Features > Custom Categories. Categories help organize your subscriptions and provide analytics breakdowns.
Inactive subscriptions are excluded from analytics calculations, monthly totals, and upcoming renewals. They're kept in your list for historical reference but don't affect your active spending tracking.
Sub Cue automatically sets your financial year based on your currency (e.g., July 1 for Australia, January 1 for US). This is used in Analytics for 'Committed', 'Estimated', and 'Previous' year calculations. You can customize this in Settings > Financial Year Settings.
Committed shows what you've actually spent so far this financial year. Estimated shows the projected full-year cost for all active subscriptions. Previous shows total spending from the previous financial year. All calculations respect your financial year start date.
Yes! Go to Settings > Data Management > Export Data. You can export in CSV (for spreadsheets), TSV (Excel compatible), or TXT (human readable) formats. This includes all subscription details, amounts, and dates.
Tap the Themes tab at the bottom. Sub Cue has 6 themes: Deep Memory (grey), Bubblegum Blitz (pink), Midnight Mojito (navy/lime), Pixel Punch (orange/teal), Daydream Drip (sky blue), and Sneaky Neon (purple/magenta).
Yes! Go to Settings > Advanced Features > Hide All Notes. This globally hides all notes in all subscriptions. You can still unlock individual notes using Face ID/Touch ID authentication when needed.
Enable custom categories in Settings > Advanced Features. Then you can create categories like 'Work Tools', 'Family Apps', or 'Health & Fitness'. These appear alongside the default categories when adding or editing subscriptions.
The Monthly Activity Calendar lets you track which subscriptions you actually use each month. This helps you understand your real spending patterns and identify subscriptions you might not need.
Tap on any subscription to edit it, then scroll to the Monthly Activity section. You can mark each month as active or inactive. This data is protected with Face ID/Touch ID for privacy.
Analytics can show both "committed" spending (what you've actually paid) and "activity-based" spending (only counting months when you used the subscription). This gives you a more accurate picture of your real costs.
You can rate each subscription from 1-5 stars based on quality, value, and how much you use it. This helps you make better decisions about which subscriptions to keep or cancel.
Tap on any subscription to edit it, then scroll to the Star Rating section. You can rate from 1-5 stars and choose whether to show the rating in your subscription list.
Yes! You can toggle "Show Star Rating" on or off for each subscription. This lets you keep track of ratings privately without displaying them in your main subscription list.
Sub Cue sends renewal reminders (7, 3, and 1 day before), budget alerts when you reach spending thresholds, spending increase warnings, and monthly spending summaries.
When you first open the app, you'll be prompted to allow notifications. You can also enable them later in Settings > Notifications. Make sure to allow notifications for Sub Cue in your device settings.
Yes! In Settings, you can enable/disable budget alerts, set your monthly budget, and choose when to receive spending increase warnings. You can also set reminder days for renewals.
Tap the Settings tab, then scroll down to find "Q&A & Support". This opens a comprehensive help system with searchable categories covering all app features.
The Q&A system includes Getting Started, Managing Subscriptions, Analytics & Financial Features, Customization & Themes, Privacy & Data, and Troubleshooting sections.
Yes! The Q&A system has a search function that lets you quickly find answers to specific questions. You can search by keywords or browse through organized categories.
